National Historic Preservation Month
Every May, the citizens of New Braunfels join thousands across the Nation to celebrate National Historic Preservation Month. This month long event celebrates the grassroots efforts taken by communities to protect, preserve, and enhance the buildings, structures, objects and places that are important to their histories. The celebration began as National Preservation Week in 1971, sponsored by the National Trust for Historic Preservation, and has grown into a month-long, nationwide event.
The City's Historic Landmark Commission has organized several local events to encourage the public to get out and enjoy the unique buildings and heritage that makes New Braunfels a great place to live and visit. This years event includes the Historic Property Scavenger Hunt, the Historic Museum Free-for-All, and the Historic Property Photo Contest.
