NBPD Training Unit Information
Classes are open to all TCOLE recognized personnel (Peace Officers, Dispatchers, Jailer’s) and Non-Licensed Law Enforcement with prior approval from the Chief of Police or his designee. In-Service Training is listed for NBPD only, which will be marked accordingly.
Some classes are held at other TCOLE approved locations within the City. If an off-site location is being used, it will be indicated accordingly within the course description itself along with the address. Rules of conduct are posted just inside the double doors of the classroom and are enforced at all times.
The New Braunfels Police Department is temporarily located at 550 Landa St. (but normally located at 1488 S. Seguin Avenue), New Braunfels, TX 78130 and the main phone number is (830) 221-4100. The NBPD Training Room is located inside of NBPD and can be accessed through the Police Department front doors and by checking in with the receptionist. Students from outside agencies are admitted into the building 15 minutes prior to the start of class and proper ID may be required for access.
Any class fees are due at the beginning of the first day of class unless other arrangements have been made ahead of time. Payment methods are cash, city/county check or money order only and a receipt will be provided for all payments.
When reserving a seat for a class, please provide the student's name, PID #, agency (if there is one), and a call back phone number. Some classes will require a minimum number of student registrations in order for the class to make. If the class does not make, then it will be cancelled. The decision to cancel a class is normally made about a week prior to the class start date by the NBPD Training Coordinator.
No stand-by lists are created; no walk-in or substitutions of attendees are accepted without our pre-approval.
If you would like to attend any training classes offered by the New Braunfels Police Department, please contact Training Coordinator Michael Burton at (830) 221-4127.
