Garbage Collection for Residents

Overview

Residential garbage is collected once per week from green, 96-gallon, City-provided wheeled carts. Upon request, a smaller, 48-gallon cart is usually available. The monthly rate is the same for either size.

For those would like an additional cart for weekly collection, a second cart can be requested for a fee and additional monthly cost.

Collection Rules

To ensure collection of your garbage, please follow these rules:
  • Bag all garbage!

    - Place closed plastic bags of garbage in your cart; don't throw in small, loose items. Bagging garbage prevents odors and reduces windblown litter upon collection. Residents are responsible for cleaning their cart.

  • Place your cart at the curb no later than 6:30 am on the day of collection.
  • Keep your cart five feet away from any obstacles, including your mailbox or vehicle parked in the street.
  • The lid must close for collection. Overloaded carts will receive a violation tag.
