Most accident reports are available through the internet, which is the easiest and most convenient way to get a copy of an accident report. To find your report online, log on to the LexisNexis eCrash report search page where you will be able to search for your report, view it, and print it in the convenience of your home or office.
We currently charge a fee of $6.00 for copies of the reports online (although effective Dec. 1, 2015, there will be an additional $5 convenience fee for requesting a report online). You can pay for your reports with a credit card using this secure site or you may contact the LexisNexis eCrash Support Line at 1-866-215-2771.
All accident reports should be available the within 3 working days following the date of the accident. Accident reports are also available at the New Braunfels Police Department for a fee of $6.00. Payment must be made by check, cash, or money order.
Traffic Accident Forms
Driver's Crash Report (blue form) - The driver of a motor vehicle involved in a crash not investigated by a law enforcement officer may utilize this form to report the incident. Private Property Accident Form - As a courtesy the New Braunfels Police Department provides these forms to assist motorists in providing information to their insurance companies. These forms may only be used when an accident occurs on private property and is not required to be reported to the State of Texas.
Police Reports for Traffic Accidents
Copies of police reports may be obtained by bringing a completed copy of the Police Report Request Form to the New Braunfels Police Department. Reports may be obtained Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
