Community Development - CDBG Program
Housing and Community Development
The City of New Braunfels receives a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) from the Department of Housing and Urban Development.
These funds are distributed throughout the community to provide eligible recipients with annual grants that can be used to revitalize neighborhoods, expand affordable housing, provide economic opportunities and improve community facilities and services, primarily aimed and low and moderate-income persons.

Participate in the Fair Housing Survey through February 28th
Our CDBG program is in the process of updating its Fair Housing Plan for the City of New Braunfels. Fair Housing is defined as non-discrimination in housing based on race, color, national origin, religion, sex, familial status, and disability. As part of this study, we are asking members of the community for their input on possible problems and potential solutions to affirmatively further fair housing in our community by completing our Fair Housing Survey.
Your input is greatly needed to provide a clear picture of the situation within our community, which will in turn assist our staff in developing a plan to improve equal and fair housing choices for all residents. Please take a few minutes to complete the survey. All answers will be kept confidential.
For additional information, contact Michele Valadez, Grants Coordinator, at 830-221-4081 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
