NBPD is now hiring Full Time Police Officers. First year starting annual base pay for certified police officers is $52,500.00 with a $3,000 sign-on and retention incentive (paid out in three $1,000 annual lump sum payments).
Additional pay benefits available for special assignments, bilingual ability, and higher-level education & certification.

In order to become a full time New Braunfels Police Officer you must be at least 21 years old (but no older than 44), be a Certified Texas Peace Officer, and be able to pass a background check & polygraph exam, psychological evaluation, and physical agility tests.
The application deadline is October 12, 2018 and the written civil service exam is set for November 3, 2018.

The New Braunfels Police Department is looking for high quality individuals to join the ranks of our department. Once hired and upon completion of the field training program, probationary period and a required length of time in patrol, you have the option to pursue a variety of career opportunities, including the Criminal Investigations Division, Traffic Unit, K-9 Unit, and Narcotics Unit. You may also pursue specialized positions such as field training officer, honor guard, S.W.A.T., and Crisis Negotiations Team (CNT). Members of the New Braunfels Police Department are also provided with the latest state-of-the-art equipment, and each receives extensive year-round in-service training both in house, as well as through outside school opportunities.
The New Braunfels Police Department generally has employment opportunities in Communications, Records, and Support Services for non-sworn civilian personnel.

- Starting salary for certified peace officers is $52,500.00 per year plus $3000.00 signing bonus ($1000.00 per year/3 yrs)

Application Minimum Qualification Requirement
Certified Police Officer: Must have a minimum certification of a Peace Officers License from Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) in good standing and/or have passed the TCOLE State License Exam no later than the time and date of the written examination. There is no degree requirement for certified applicants.
