The City is inviting the public to participate in a community meeting regarding the potential development of Guadalupe River Properties Park. The meeting will be held on Wednesday, July 25th, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at Landa Haus,
360 Aquatic Circle, New Braunfels, TX 78130.
On Monday, June 25, 2018, City Council approved the preliminary engineering contracts for multiple proposed 2019 bond projects, including the Guadalupe River Properties Park. The preliminary engineering contract for the park has been awarded to Freese & Nichols. The preliminary engineering report will assist the City Council in identifying project feasibility for the proposed 2019 Bond Program.
A Vision Plan for the park was developed by Freese & Nichols and approved by City Council in 2016. The plan features intersection improvements and realignment to improve vehicular and pedestrian traffic, new parking and streetscape enhancements to provide buffers between neighborhood and the park, a pedestrian underpass, kayak/canoe launch, natural buffer areas and trails, and restrooms. The Guadalupe River Properties Vision Plan can be downloaded online at http://www.nbtexas.org/GuadalupeRiverPark.
This first meeting will give the community a chance to revisit the plan and provide more detail to any elements desired by the community. All interested individuals, organizations and businesses from New Braunfels and the surrounding area are welcome to attend, learn about the project, and offer input.
