Information on City's Wildlife Feeding Ordinance

The City of New Braunfels recently adopted an ordinance prohibiting the feeding of wildlife (City Ordinance No. 2018-58). The ordinance, which goes into effect in March 2019, prohibits the feeding of wildlife on public and private properties within the

City limits.

In order to provide information to the public about the intent and details of the ordinance, a webpage has been developed and is available for access via the City’s website (http://www.nbtexas.org/wildlife). The webpage includes information regarding the negative impacts of wildlife feeding, a summary of the ordinance and a link to the ordinance itself.

In addition, the City will be hosting a wildlife management workshop on Wednesday, February 13, 2019 in collaboration with Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD). The workshop will be held at 6:00 p.m. at New Braunfels City Hall and will include presentations from City staff and TPWD regarding local urban wildlife management initiatives.  The public is invited to attend and participate in the workshop.
