Many City of New Braunfels facilities will be closed on Friday, April 2nd, 2021, in observance of Founders Day,
including City Hall, the Library, Parks & Recreation administrative offices, the Fischer Park Nature Education Center, the Landa Recreation Center, the Municipal Annex, the City Recycle Center, and the Westside Community Center. Here’s a look at the holiday weekend schedule for city facilities and operations:
Das Rec, the city’s Recreation Center, will have normal hours of operation on Friday (5am to 8pm) and Saturday (7am to 4pm). The facility is currently closed on Sundays and will reopen Monday (5am to 8pm).
Garbage and Recycling Collection
Fridays are not typical collection days for residential garbage, brush, or recycling and the Solid Waste and Recycling Division’s administrative offices will be closed on Friday. Commercial garbage collection will run as normal on Friday and Saturday. The City Recycle Center will be closed on Friday, open on Saturday, and will continue its usual schedule of being closed on Mondays.
The New Braunfels Public Library will be closed on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday and will resume its normal schedule on Monday, April 5th, at 10am.
Park Facilities and Amenities
The Landa Park Golf Course at Comal Springs will have normal operating hours.
The Landa Park Mini Golf Course and Landa Park Paddle Boats is currently closed on weekdays but will be open on Saturday and Sunday (10am to 8pm).
The Landa Park Aquatic Center is currently closed for the season.
The Landa Recreation Center will be closed on Friday.
The Fischer Park Nature Education Center will be closed on Friday and will operate as usual Saturday (10am to 5pm) and Sunday (12pm to 5pm).
Westside Community Center
The Westside Community Center will be closed on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday and will resume its normal schedule on Monday, April 5th, at 9am.
