The City of New Braunfels Historic Landmark Commission invites the public to participate in “Free Historic Museum Day” as part of National Historic Preservation Month, which occurs every May.
The following institutions will be open to the public at no admission charge on May 19th from noon until 4:00 p.m.: The Sophienburg Museum at 401 W. Coll Street, The Museum of Texas Handmade Furniture at 1370 Churchill Drive, The Historic Outdoor Art Museum (nbmurals.org), and the New Braunfels Fire Museum at 131 S. Hill Avenue.
“These institutions work to preserve the heritage of the community and ensure that our history is passed down from generation to generation. Visiting these museums is a fantastic way to learn about the history of our community,” said Amy McWhorter, Historic Preservation Officer for the City of New Braunfels.
