Head over to the Prince Solms Park for something a little different; a game of Disc Golf! The nine hole course has a length of 1,808 feet and winds through the scenic park and along the Comal River.
Disc Golf Rules:
Play the course from the beginning to end in the fewest throws.
Tee throws must be release from within the designated area.
The spot where the disc lands.
Lowest score on previous hole tees first.
After tee-off the player whose lie is farthest from the target throws first.
Must be made from on the lie. A run-up and follow through is permitted.
Within 10 yards of the target a player may not step past the lie when making a putt throw.
Completion of Hole
The hole is complete when the disc is in the basket or supported by chains.
Out of Bounds
A throw that lands out of bounds must be played from the point where the disc went out (1 throw penalty).
During tournament play, all roadways will be considered out of bounds.
Do not throw until the players ahead of you are out of range.
Residents of the corporate city limits of New Braunfels who play disc golf, basketball or tennis at Prince Solms park have the option to purchase the Prince Solms Sports Pass for parking at Prince Solms Park May 1st - Labor Day. The pass is $40.00 and is valid for two (2) seasons. Pass holders must display the pass on their vehicle dash and must be on one of the three courts for the duration of the visit.
This pass is not valid for river parking.
The pass can be obtained by bringing proof of residency to the Parks and Recreation Administrative Office, 110 Golf Course Rd. Monday-Friday 8am-5pm.
The following documents are acceptable for proof of residency:
- Valid driver's license
- Current NBU statement with photo ID
- Other current utility statement with photo ID
- Rental contract with photo ID
