Public Information Requests

PD-2

For a quicker response, requests for public information must be made in writing and should contain as much information as possible about the information you are requesting.

PLEASE NOTE:

Requests for traffic accident reports must be made through the links provided on the Traffic Accident Reports & Forms page.

Please remember that requests should be for documents or other information that already exists. Government organizations (like NBPD) are not required to answer questions, perform legal research, or comply with continuing requests to supply information on a periodic basis since that information has not yet been prepared. We recommend that you keep a copy of your request and proof of receipt for your personal records.

Written requests can be sent in by U.S. Mail, submitted online, or submitted in person at the New Braunfels Police Department Headquarters: 3030 West San Antonio St. New Braunfels TX, 78130.

An online Public Information Request Form is available to help you provide the needed information. Requests for Public Information can also be completed in person at the New Braunfels Police Department (3030 West San Antonio St.) or by fax at 830-608-2188.

NOTICE:

ALTHOUGH MOST INFORMATION IS READILY AVAILABLE, THE PROCESSING OF SOME INFORMATION MAY REQUIRE UP TO TEN (10) BUSINESS DAYS.  SHOULD PROCESSING TAKE LONGER THAN TEN (10) DAYS, YOU WILL BE NOTIFIED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE PUBLIC INFORMATION ACT.

NOTICE:

Texas Transportation Code Sec. 550.065(c)(4) restricts the release of unredacted crash reports to persons directly concerned in the accident or having a proper interest therein.
