New Braunfels Parks and Recreation values health and wellness and is committed to providing a variety of programs and services to educate, facilitate and foster health and wellness.

Opened in 2018, Das Rec offers 77,000 sq’ of amenities including a fitness floor, indoor walking track, group exercise room, double-gymnasium, and two indoor pools.  Das Rec promotes health and wellness in the community in many ways.

- Trainer Tip Tuesdays on Social Media
- Free nutrition programs and classes
- Reduced rate Corporate Membership options for local businesses
- Adoption of insurance based fitness memberships for seniors such as Silver Sneakers 
- Kinder Care to allow parents to use the facility

The City convened health stakeholders, community advocates and fitness organizations to create a local health and fitness council. 

The goal is to bring common interests in health and fitness together and identify the best ways to build a healthier community. 

We want to help New Braunfels become the "Healthiest Hill Country Community."
