Alarm Permits
In an ongoing effort to enhance our commitment to extraordinary customer service, the New Braunfels Police Department is now accepting all applications for both residential and commercial alarm permits online.
The annual fee is $40 for residential alarms and $50 for commercial alarms.
Please note:
Per City Ordinance 18-148, residents that are 65 years of age and older are exempt from alarm permit application and renewal fees
Online Permit Benefits
- Customers will be able to obtain a permit at any time during the year and it will be effective for one year from the permit date.
- Customers will be able to manage their alarm permits via the internet. This will include the ability to monitor alarm history and access tools and educational material to reduce false alarms.
- Customers will be able to remit payment via credit card.
The goal is to reduce the significant number of false alarms which currently account for approximately 10% of our total calls for service. Reducing these types of calls for service will allow for enhanced response to priority calls for police service. Additionally, this new system will provide a more user friendly and efficient registration and management process.
