UPDATE: A third suspect has been arrested following the May 19, 2017, Aggravated Robbery of a Walgreens store in the 1100 block of Bus. 35 South. On June 8, 2017, an arrest warrant for Aggravated Robbery was obtained by NBPD detectives and served by the US Marshals Lone Star Fugitive Task Force. 21-year old Movante Neshaud Johnson was taken into custody without incident at his residence in Live Oak and then transported to the Comal County Jail. Bond was set at $200,000 and, as of this release, Johnson remained in custody. Previously, 18-year old Jaden Gage of San Antonio was arrested and he also remains in custody at the Comal County Jail with bond set at $250,000. The third suspect, a 16-year old juvenile, currently remains detained at the Guadalupe County Juvenile Detention Center pending the results of a detention hearing set for Tuesday morning in Comal County District Court. This case remains an active investigation and additional arrests or charges may be pending.

PREVIOUS RELEASE (05-26-17): On today’s date, detectives with the New Braunfels Police Department, with assistance from the US Marshals Service - Lone Star Fugitive Task Force, the GONE Unit, and the Comal County Metro Narcotics Task Force, served an arrest warrant for an adult suspect and detained a juvenile suspect that are believed to be connected to the May 19th, 2017, Aggravated Robbery of the Walgreen’s store located in the 1100 block of Business 35 S. in New Braunfels. The adult, identified as 18-year old Jaden Darnell Gage of San Antonio, was arrested at his residence and taken to the Comal County Jail. The 16-year old juvenile suspect from Kirby, TX, was detained at his residence and taken to the Guadalupe County Juvenile Detention Center. The two suspects are accused of entering the store, displaying handguns, demanding cash from the clerk, and fleeing the scene on foot. The two males were arrested and/or detained without incident and both have been charged with Aggravated Robbery, a 1st degree felony (TPC 29.03). As of this release, Gage remained in custody with bond set at $250,000. This case remains an open and active investigation, and additional arrests/detentions may be forthcoming.

ORIGINAL RELEASE: On Friday, May 19th, 2017, at approximately 9:55pm, the New Braunfels Police Department responded to Walgreen’s in the 1100 block of Business 35 S. for a report of a robbery. Officers arrived and learned that two males wearing masks had entered the store and approached the cashier with weapons displayed. One male took cash out of the register while the other remained in the entryway to the store. The two then fled the scene on foot with an undisclosed amount of money. There were no injuries. The New Braunfels Police Department Criminal Investigations Division (CID) is currently investigating the case and further details will be released as the investigation continues.
