New Braunfels Mayor Rusty Brockman will join several local organizations on Memorial Day for a wreath laying ceremony in downtown New Braunfels.
The ceremony is hosted by New Braunfels VFW Post 7110, American Legion Post 179, the New Braunfels High School ROTC, and the New Braunfels Noon Lions Club. The ceremony will feature music provided by the New Braunfels High School Band, comments from community leaders, a brief history of Memorial Day, and a wreath laying ceremony by the commanders of the local VFW and American Legion posts.
“I am honored to have been asked to speak at this event commemorating those who have died in service to our great country,” said New Braunfels Mayor Rusty Brockman. “I would encourage all residents of New Braunfels to attend this ceremony or to take time out of their long holiday weekend to honor the sacrifices made by the service men and women who have died while in active duty in the United States Armed Forces.”
The ceremony begins at 8am on Monday, May 31st on the Main Plaza in downtown New Braunfels.
